School refusal manifests itself in varying degrees of intensity and can lead to dropping out of school. The development towards this is usually a process, but professional intervention is possible at every stage. To a certain extent, school refusal is a symptom; the underlying causes are individual and often very complex. Multi-professional cooperation is required to prevent children and young people from being excluded from education. This book deals with the relevant conceptual discussions as well as a summary of causes and risk factors.
