The ABC’s of Kansas City was illustrated and published in 2020 a year that was very taxing mentally, financially, and physically on everyone. I had attempted to produce three other books, but I could not finish them due creative burnout. The events of 2020 left me drained in every way possible, and I was not proud of anything I created. One of the highlights of the year was my sister and husband announcing her pregnancy. This spark of joy inspired me to connect with my 'inner child.' I began illustrating patterns and abstract designs that brought life back into my soul. This process was therapeutic. I was reminded that even in trying times, I can still find little pockets of bliss in the world. It is my hope that this book will be a reminder for you, the reader, to hold on to your inner child as you navigate the challenges of adulthood. Thank you Baby Womble, you have kept me going through the most trying times of my life.
