Obserwacja ceremonii posagu Fang ujawnia istotną lub główną rolę odgrywaną przez Mbi Ntum, którą kojarzymy z domeną komunikacji ustnej. W interaktywnych sekwencjach, które składają się na etapy rytuału, wykorzystują oni komunikację ustną opartą na dyskursie werbalnym i niewerbalnym. Wykorzystane tu rodzaje mowy są częścią afrykańskiego modelu i są odtwarzane przez aktorów na scenie podczas zrytualizowanych sekwencji posagu. Odpowiadając na pytanie, w jaki sposób posag odbywa się wśród Fangów, konieczne stało się zbadanie samych podstaw praktyki mowy, sposobu, w jaki Fangowie rytualizują komunikację podczas posagu i jak ten rytuał jest przeprowadzany od pokoleń. Zaobserwowano kilka form mowy nieodłącznie związanych z tą wyjątkową sytuacją komunikacyjną, opartą głównie na roli odgrywanej przez Mbi Ntum.
