《东京往事》系列散文记述作者在东京的留学生活和经历。上世纪八十年代中后期国内兴起去日本留学的热潮，很多国人尤其是上海人东渡扶桑留学，《东京往事》作者也是其中一员，于1987年至1996年在东京留学生活长达近九年之久，跨越从昭和到平成两个时代。期间读过语言学校，大学和大学院（研究生院），同时做过各种不同工作，不仅与许多来自中国大陆台湾韩国等地的留学生多有接触，也有机会与日本的普通会社社员，私企经营者，学校老师，大学教授乃至议会议员等各种不同职业和阶层的日本人有所交往，《东京往事》以诙谐幽默笔触通过对在日留学生及形形色色的普通日本人形象的生动描述和刻画，还原当时的生活情景和氛围，管中窥豹反映和折射出那个年代在日留学生的真实生活情形及日本社会的特殊社会风貌。该文曾在文学城倍可亲万维留园连载，颇获好评，点击颇多，并被多处转载。《走走看看说日本》是作者皮卡丘的游记散文。作者曾在日本东京生活多年，2015年时隔多年重回日本，沿东京至京都的旧东海道做了一次独自一人的徒步旅行。历时近一个月，步行距离400余公里。该文记述作者一路所见所闻所感所想。皮卡丘幼年曾经学习绘画，在《走走看看说日本》一文中，配有多幅沿途相片及作者的沿途市貌风景绘画作品。作者观察细致，对于人们司空见惯的事情或现象常有独特的观察及描述，思绪活跃，叙事幽默，描写生动，时或掺有中日文化或生活习惯之对比，读来饶有趣味，引人会心一笑。《走走看看说日本》在文学城倍可亲万维留园连载，反响良好，仅在倍可亲一处即获得160余万次点击，图文并茂，对于对日本有兴趣的读者而言是可以一读的作品。
