Every age believes it is more civilised than earlier ones. It abhors, as barbaric, the cruelties of preceding ages while, at the same time, justifying its own cruelties using current, fashionable logic. Modern democracy claims to have overcome the tyrannies of kings and dictators. Yet it is, actually, run by tyrannies; that of the 'majority' at best but, more usually, that of the most vocal, disruptive or best publicised minority. It is unable to agree on which comes first; human rights, life style choices or core society values. Like in all previous civilisations, the causes of this inability are the same as those which led to the demise of earlier civilisations; promiscuity, unnatural sexual activities, abortion and abuse or neglect of religion. This book presents a short history of one type of horrendous human cruelty, the killing of children, born and unborn, which is currently being justified as an entitlement of human rights, life style choice and humanism or secularity

The opinions of armchair philosophers, to whom life is in black and white, are not often taken seriously, probably, because they are, often, too loudly expressed or, irritatingly, argumentative. These opinions arise, however, from social concern and from exasperation at the apparent lack of concern, by the rest of the population, about serious matters of human existence. Some a...

Young Nigerians, who made the fashionable choice 'to seek the golden fleece' by pursuing tertiary education in Europe, met with what they had not bargained for.
