This beautiful and poetic retelling of the story of creation in Genesis opens up new ways of understanding the creation story, the nature of God and who we are as human beings. It tells of the way in which all the main characters, Adam, Eve, the Serpent, the Tree of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life all had a part in God’s plan to create self-conscious awareness in human beings so that they could find their way back to unity with God. In this way the plan of creation finds its fulfilment. Told by an Indian Christian monk who really understands the spiritual depths of the biblical tradition, the depths of the Hindu tradition and the way in which the redemptive life of Christ is a bridge between the two.
