Do mesmo modo, os procedimentos identificados contam para a candidatura ao 'Freiwillige Polizeidienst'. Os voluntários têm uma variedade de motivações, principalmente altruístas, sociais e egoístas. Os resultados mostram que os voluntários nem sempre estão conscientes dos seus motivos, o que corrobora investigações semelhantes efectuadas no Reino Unido.
