Este estudo tem como objetivo descobrir o efeito e a eficácia da leitura repetida oral (RR) na fluência da leitura oral no ambiente EFL em Taiwan. Ao estimular a velocidade e a automaticidade da leitura oral, a RR revelou-se um método eficaz para melhorar a fluência da leitura oral e da expressão oral. Os resultados indicaram que houve uma melhoria significativa na velocidade de leitura oral antes e depois da intervenção, independentemente dos seguintes factores: (a) género, (b) língua materna, (c) tempo de utilização/aprendizagem do inglês durante o tempo livre, (d) desempenho no pré-teste e (e) melhoria obtida durante a prática. As respostas dos questionários pós-teste também indicaram uma elevada aceitabilidade da RR entre os grupos de sujeitos. Por conseguinte, a adoção do RR para o desenvolvimento da automaticidade e o treino da velocidade no ensino da fluência oral foi recomendada para o ensino futuro em Taiwan.
