Esta dissertação explora a análise do discurso político em França, centrando-se na questão da imigração nas campanhas eleitorais. O estudo examina como os políticos constroem o seu discurso através de estratégias argumentativas e retóricas, a fim de influenciar a opinião pública. O autor analisa um corpus constituído pelos discursos dos cinco principais candidatos às eleições presidenciais de 2017: Emmanuel Macron, Marine Le Pen, François Fillon, Jean-Luc Mélenchon e Benoît Hamon. Utilizando uma abordagem qualitativa e a análise do discurso, o estudo destaca as marcas enunciativas, as estratégias discursivas e as diferentes representações da imigração de acordo com o posicionamento político. Os resultados mostram que cada candidato adapta o seu discurso em função do seu eleitorado-alvo, jogando em vários registos: segurança, económico, identitário ou humanitário. A análise revela também que, apesar das suas diferenças ideológicas, alguns candidatos utilizam uma retórica semelhante, nomeadamente em termos de enquadramento do debate e de argumentação persuasiva.
