A minha paixão incansável pela política de refugiados inspirou este estudo. Em 19 de setembro de 2016, a Assembleia Geral das Nações Unidas (AGNU) adoptou a Declaração de Nova Iorque sobre Refugiados e Migrantes, que se tornou precursora do Quadro Global de Resposta aos Refugiados, do Pacto Global para os Refugiados e do Fórum Global para os Refugiados (GRF). Atualmente, o mundo regista o maior número de refugiados e o menor número de repatriados, o que incentiva a partilha entre os Estados, trabalhando em conjunto para encontrar soluções duradouras. O Ruanda acolhe refugiados desde a década de 1990. Este trabalho constitui uma oportunidade para investigar a Geopolítica do Acolhimento de Refugiados no Ruanda (1996-2021) a partir de uma perspetiva sócio-jurídica, considerando os actuais desenvolvimentos em matéria de partilha de encargos que a Declaração de Nova Iorque sobre Refugiados e Migrantes pôs em marcha.
