O acesso à tecnologia e a sua disponibilidade nas salas de aula de hoje permitem aos professores modificar os seus conteúdos de ensino, actualizando e fazendo pequenas alterações nos seus planos de aula para facilitar a aprendizagem, motivar os alunos e aumentar os seus resultados. Este estudo fenomenológico qualitativo explorou as atitudes, percepções e experiências vividas por nove professores do ensino básico acerca dos objectos de aprendizagem e da sua implementação no seu ambiente educativo. O principal objetivo deste estudo era investigar (a) as percepções dos professores, enquanto líderes educativos da escola, (b) as definições e aplicações dos professores do ensino baseado em objectos de aprendizagem, e (c) as oportunidades e problemas do processo de implementação. Para este estudo, os dados foram recolhidos através de (a) entrevistas semi-estruturadas, (b) relatórios de observação de campo, e (c) fotografias e os dados foram analisados utilizando o método de Giorgi (1997) de fenomenologia descritiva em quatro fases: codificação de dados, desenvolvimento de temas, organização de códigos e temas, e descrição de conclusões.
