***A Descriptive Analysis of Divergent Perspectives on Instructional Leadership Practices at Kanye and Moshupa Brigade Centres***In this comprehensive qualitative case study, Baemedi Monthusi Kaisara delves into the intricacies of instructional leadership within Botswana’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, specifically focusing on the instructional leadership practices at Kanye and Moshupa Brigade Centres. Through detailed interviews with both instructional leaders and lecturers, this study explores the effectiveness, challenges, and competencies required in instructional leadership-a role critical to student success and institutional improvement in vocational education.Kaisara’s research is framed by the Hallinger and Murphy instructional leadership theory, which provides a structured approach to evaluating leadership based on defining school missions, managing curriculum, and fostering a positive learning climate. Key findings reveal that while principals and deputy principals demonstrate some effective leadership traits, such as fostering communication and shared decision-making, there are significant challenges. Staff attendance issues, resource shortages, and unclear disciplinary procedures hinder the achievement of instructional goals. These challenges resonate within a broader context of resource scarcity, role ambiguity, and the public’s low confidence.
