Este livro apresenta um estudo autobiográfico sobre a construção da identidade docente do professor de história José Clovis Pereira de Oliveira, que atua em escolas públicas de Itaú e Severiano Melo (RN). Utilizando metodologia qualitativa de cunho autobiográfico, com entrevistas, análise documental e pesquisa bibliográfica, o autor fundamenta-se em teóricos como Antonio Nóvoa, Ezequiel Theodoro Silva, Brzezinsk, Bittencourt, Imbernón e Selva Guimarães Fonseca. A obra se organiza em três capítulos: o primeiro aborda conceitos como história de vida, métodos autobiográficos, memória, identidade docente e formação de professores; o segundo traz a narrativa de sua trajetória, das primeiras experiências escolares à atuação como professor; e o terceiro analisa o curso de História da UERN e seu papel em sua formação. Conclui que a identidade docente é um processo contínuo, influenciado por fatores psicológicos, sociais e estruturais, e defende a importância de uma postura reflexiva entre profissionais, especialmente na área de história.
