Some studies even go as far as to claim that 90% of all illnesses are stress related. Most of us experience stress in our lives, either as an ongoing, chronic condition or caused by some of the major life stressors such as: Death of a loved one Divorce Losing a job Emotional issues such as depression, anxiety, etc. However, even certain circumstances and events that represent happy times can cause tremendous amounts of stress. These include getting married and moving to a new home. Some people feel chronically stressed, their body constantly flooded with cortisol, a so-called stress hormone. While the hormone provides us with energy needed to deal with a stress event, chronic, continuous stress gives us too much of a good thing. It is therefore imperative to lower our stress levels. Many techniques are widely known and available and I recommend that you use the arrays of techniques in our approach to reduce stress. There is no better time than now to take care of yourself. Below are some tried and true stress reducing tips: Eat healthy meals. But don’t overeat. A few days of juice fasting may be just the thing to help you get on your way to lowering your stress levels. Liquid foods are easier to digest and juicing, especially while otherwise fasting, will give your digestive system much-needed rest, thus causing your entire body to recuperate. I recommend avoiding caffeine, alcohol and nicotine at all times, but especially when on high stress mode. Try to drink as much water as possible instead. Reduce your intake of sugar, including all the hidden sugars in processed foods. This is a great time to treat your body with some physical activity, even if it’s only a brisk walk outside while getting some fresh air. Be more mindful of your thoughts. Recognize them and let them go through guided meditation. Many superb guided mediations are available for free on You Tube or even your phone apps. And most importantly, recognize that you can do something about your stress levels. I have prepared these delicious juicing recipes for stress that you can make at home. I have combined some of the best stress combating fruits and vegetables in powerful mixes that should assist you in dealing with stress.
