Spurgeon was one of the most remarkable Baptist preachers of his time or any other time for that matter. Known as the 'prince of preachers,' his sermons were a significant attraction holding those in attendance spellbound. The theology he preached was highly conservative when there were strong liberal impulses in the Baptist Church.
