Digitale Technologien spielen heute eine wichtige Rolle im täglichen Leben der Menschen. Durch diese Medien wird nicht nur der Zugang zu verschiedenen Arten von Informationen und Schulungen ermöglicht, sondern es werden auch neue Formen der Kommunikation geschaffen. In diesem Sinne haben ältere Menschen die Notwendigkeit erkannt, sich in diese Lernprozesse einzubringen und sich durch den Kontakt mit diesen neuen Werkzeugen mit der aktuellen Welt auseinanderzusetzen. Dieser Beitrag zeigt die Hauptmotivationen auf, die ältere Erwachsene zur Nutzung sozialer Netzwerke veranlassen, sowie die Bedeutung, die diese Medien in zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen haben. Ältere Erwachsene aus der Provinz San Luis, Argentinien, nahmen an der Studie teil.
