So grenzen sich die zwei großen Strömungen des Liberalismus und des Republikanismus im Rechtsbegriff und dem Verständnis der Gesellschaft und ihrer Glieder stark voneinander ab. Diese Gegensätze werde ich anhand des Textes „Drei normative Modelle der Demokratie' von Jürgen Habermas gegenüberstellen(I), anschließend sein Verständnis des internen Zusammenhangs von Rechtsstaat und Demokratie anhand seines Textes „Über den internen Zusammenhang von Rechtsstaat und Demokratie' einarbeiten(II) und anschließend für diese drei Modelle die in der heutigen Zeit prägenden Einflüsse darstellen(III) sowie einen Ausblick auf die weiteren Entwicklungsmöglichen unter diesen Bedingungen(IV) vorstellen.
