Der Hauptzweck dieses Buches besteht darin, dem Leser die Ergebnisse mehrerer experimenteller Studien zu präsentieren, die eine mögliche Verbindung zwischen der EP und den Besonderheiten der physikalischen und chemischen Prozesse aufzeigen, die an den Monomer-Wasser-Grenzflächen stattfinden. In diesen Experimenten wird die Polymerisation unter statischen Bedingungen durchgeführt, was die Beobachtung und Untersuchung der physikalischen und chemischen Prozesse ermöglicht, die sowohl an der Grenzfläche als auch in separaten Massenphasen der heterogenen Systeme auftreten.
