Celem niniejszego badania było: zbadanie mikroorganizmów wywołujących subkliniczne zapalenie wymienia u owiec hodowanych na mięso, określenie wartości granicznych dwóch metod diagnostyki pośredniej, porównanie wskaźników wyleczenia subklinicznego zapalenia wymienia po dożylnym podaniu aktywnego składnika przeciwbakteryjnego w momencie wysuszenia wymienia w dwóch różnych preparatach, konwencjonalnym i nanocząsteczkowym, sprawdzenie wskaźników spontanicznego wyleczenia, ocena zdolności zapobiegania występowaniu nowych infekcji wymion oraz sprawdzenie obecności pozostałości środków przeciwbakteryjnych w mleku owiec poddanych leczeniu w okresie zasuszenia, w kolejnym okresie laktacji. Badanie przeprowadzono na stadzie znajdującym się na terenie gospodarstwa w gminie São Carlos w stanie São Paulo w Brazylii. Zastosowanie kloksacyliny w momencie suszenia owiec mięsnych w stadzie, u których zaobserwowano subkliniczne mastitis w niniejszym badaniu, jest skuteczną metodą ograniczenia tych infekcji po porodzie, gdy jest podawana w postaci nanokapsułek.
