Wydajność różnych protokołów routingu proaktywnego, reaktywnego i hybrydowego została zbadana, przeanalizowana i oceniona poprzez symulacje w Network Simulator-2. Wczesne prace nad routingiem koncentrowały się głównie na zapewnieniu wydajnych mechanizmów wyszukiwania ścieżek w sieciach dynamicznych. Kwestie bezpieczeństwa nie były brane pod uwagę. Co ciekawe, zaprojektowanie odpowiednich schematów bezpieczeństwa dla tych innowacyjnych sieci jest bardzo trudne. Książka ta będzie bardzo przydatna dla doktorantów, naukowców i studentów studiów magisterskich, którzy chcą prowadzić badania w zakresie mobilnych sieci ad hoc.
