Yukon Winter tells the story of homecoming. Jackson is on his way from Ontario Canada to the remote Yukon territory to finish his book and think about the rest of his life. Outside of Whitehorse, his destination, he literally falls for Wes who is going home to pick up the pieces of his life, shattered when he lost his parents and ran at 16 years of age. Wes picks Jackson up, dusts him off and turns his life upside down. Jackson has never felt good in his skin, has known he is not normal and has not looked for relationships because, well, he just can’t talk to people, let alone romance them. His romance is in the books he writes but he knows that now, at almost 30, he needs to choose a grown-up profession and become a ’real’ person. Wes makes him question everything, his writing, his life and what he knows about himself.Wes just wants to go into town, kill his demons and head back out on the road. All he has to do is get his shit together. That means confronting his aunt and his sister who he left in the lurch 10 years ago. Well he’s there he can get a job for a few months to make a little money to continue his travels. But things have changed while he’s gone. There are his sister’s kids and a new baby to think about. And why does Jackson leave him wanting something he can never have? Does his heart want the same things he does? Jackson and Wes try hard to make their plans work. Is it possible the universe has other ideas?
