Carol Anderson stumbles onto a get rich scheme by the honorable mayor, Elva Halstrom. Carol mentioned to her husband that she had some devastating information about some community leaders. Before she could give him details she is killed in an auto accident. Fifteen year old Tina Carter discovers the plans of three community leaders to become millionaires. She is killed by a policeman, Carl Oberman. Eleven year old Kara witnesses Tina being dragged into a vacant cabin. Later Tina is found dead. Killed by a lethal injection of deadly drugs. Kara decides she has to testify on what she saw to give Tina’s parents closure on her death. She is kidnaped to keep her from testifying. The drama is intense as the trusted mayor decides she has to disappear- get out of Cincinnati area. Carl Oberman, the murderous cop, successfully escapes to South America. Jack Marcus, a university professor is capable of making perfect counterfeit money, only to be caught. Elva Halstrom, the mayor, returned to Cincinnati and confesses her bad judgement call. She asks her constituents to forgive her. Eventually all three involved in the scam are identified and are forced to pay their debt to society. It is how they are caught that pulls on your heart strings. Even the bad cop has redeeming qualities.
