God has His own way of answering our prayers. As I begin to seek His face, I heard His voice. He gave me insight to many things; starting with the strengths and weaknesses that were within me. The journey God was about to take me on, I never imagined. After praying for direction, I was awakened and instructed one morning to write. Upon being obedient, in due time, You Can’t Fool God, was written. The title, as well as the cover were both given to me from the Lord above. Through my trials and tribulations, God has been my pressure release in these writings. These poems are a collection of Jackie and God’s quality time; the intimacy we shared sometimes way over in the midnight hour. We, as Christians, wear so many different faces. We’re smiling on the outside, but crying on the inside. We’re often searching for answers and fulfillment in things and people. God is the answer and everything we need, He’s got it. No matter who you are, or what you’ve done, God knows all about it. Although, He’s the best secret keeper around, He chastens those whom He loves. I pray that these poems will challenge you to search yourself and ask God to come into your life and have His way. No matter what you do, or how you do it; YOU CAN’T FOOL GOD!

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
