YEAR OF THE DRAGON is Ford Turrell’s second collection of poems and meditations. The writings in this collection were all composed during 2024 -- the year of the dragon in the Chinese lunar calendar -- and a very tumultuous year for world, political, and environmental events. Uncertainty abounds and division persists.But these poems are about connection -- they are about our connection with something enduring, something changeless, something interwoven with our entire life but that we easily lose sight of amidst of the chaos, discord, and fear. In the end, this book is really a prayer -- a prayer that you might catch a glimpse of what endures in the midst of your one, wild life -- as you watch the sunrise on a quiet lake, while you’re gathered in the warmth of family and friends, while you’re stopped at a red light, or even while you experience an illness. This book is a prayer that the words in it might reflect back to you a truth you have known all along, but that you have lost touch with along the way.
