'This notorious late Qing Dynasty case (1873-1877) is one of China’s ''Four Great Miscarriages of Justice'' (清末四大冤案). It involved a wrongful conviction, torture, and a dramatic appeal that reached Empress Dowager Cixi, exposing deep corruption in the Qing legal system.This book is based on the four major mysteries of the late Qing Dynasty, ''Yang Naiwu and Little Cabbage,'' and is a legendary novel created through artistic processing. The author is Huang Nanding. During the reign of Emperor Tongzhi, Yang Naiwu and Ge Bishi were suspected of committing adultery and killing their husband. They were wrongly imprisoned and forced to confess. The case alarmed the court, and after several retrials, the case was clarified and the two individuals were cleared of guilt. After this case occurred, it was adapted into various art forms such as opera, Pingtan, and film. This novel is one of the more well-known ones, expressing criticism of the corruption and darkness of the judicial system in the late Qing Dynasty through artistic techniques.本书以清末四大疑案之'杨乃武与小白菜'为原型，系经过艺术加工后形成的传奇小说作品，作者为黄南丁。同治年间，杨乃武与葛毕氏被怀疑通奸杀夫，含冤下狱，屈打成招。后案件惊动朝廷，经过数次重审后澄清案情，还二人以清白。此案发生后被改编为戏曲、评弹、电影等多种艺术形式，本小说为其中较为知名的一种，通过艺术的手法，表达了晚清司法制度腐败黑暗的批判。
