Dividida en cuatro partes, XIBIL es una novela estructurada a modo de pirámide de energía: una base firme sobre la que se asientan, uno a uno, los peldaños de la historia. Lo que comienza de forma inocente y desenfadada se complica el día que Tony decide llevar a sus sobrinas a pasar un día en la nieve. No es el suceso en sí el verdadero protagonista de esta historia de relaciones personales, aunque sí el eje sobre el que se vertebra la trama. Los diálogos entre los personajes se entrelazan con sus reflexiones sobre la existencia, el devenir y los vínculos humanos. La insatisfacción y la euforia caminan de la mano. El deseo y la frustración comparten dormitorio. La oscuridad de una vida no colmada convive con la luz al final del túnel. Todo invita a sacudir la conciencia del lector, a empujarlo a preguntarse —si aún no lo ha hecho— qué más puede hacer por sí mismo y por los demás.
