Niniejsza praca dotyczy kształcenia inżynierów w Brazylii w kontekście nowych wyzwań XXI wieku. W ciągu ostatnich dwudziestu lat postęp naukowy i technologiczny dotarł do Brazylii, a wraz z zacieśnieniem stosunków handlowych wynikających z globalizacji, brazylijski sektor przemysłowy musiał się zmodernizować, aby nadążyć za nowymi nawykami konsumpcyjnymi ludności. Wraz z modernizacją pojawiły się nowe wymagania wobec profilów zawodowych pracowników technicznych i pokrewnych. Wymagania te znalazły odzwierciedlenie w instytucjach szkolnictwa wyższego o profilu technicznym, odpowiedzialnych za zaspokojenie zapotrzebowania na wykwalifikowanych pracowników, zwłaszcza inżynierów różnych specjalności, wymagających takich umiejętności, jak inicjatywa, kreatywność, zdolności przywódcze, samodzielność i umiejętność rozwiązywania problemów. W ramach niniejszej pracy zbadano aktualną sytuację kształcenia inżynierów w Brazylii, poznano opinie i oczekiwania studentów i wykładowców oraz omówiono strategie nauczania i możliwość ich zastosowania w sali wykładowej. Zaproponowano również refleksję na temat modelu programu nauczania przyjętego przez większość instytucji edukacyjnych.
