Old documents contain reports on concerns about workers’ health, an issue that still worries the population. Even with the greater importance given to workers’ health, there are still a large number of workers injured each year in Brazil, in addition to work-related illnesses and the high social security costs associated with accidents. However, the prevention of workplace accidents is now an important tool for avoiding the temporary or permanent disability of thousands of workers in the country. In view of this, the present study aims to show data related to workplace accidents that occurred in Brazil between 2007 and 2013, with a view to clarifying to the population that there is still much to be done to reduce the number of accidents, which is still quite significant.
