Women of Strength: Six Promises to God is an eloquent faith-builder that is designed to help increase womens faith. Written in a heartfelt manner that exudes strength, courage, love, and faith, Dr. Kiki Thomas eloquently exhibits her purely unadulterated love for God. It is her hearts cry to help the reader understand the power of faith. Dr. Thomas profound literary work is, as its subtitle indicates, divided into six parts or six promises. Promise One encourages the reader to have faith in God even when he cannot be seen. Promise Two simply encourages the reader to have faith in God. The third Promise is to broadcast Gods voice and testimonies with the intention of helping other women to hear him more clearly while experiencing hope and inspiration. This promise is undergirded by four powerfully moving testimonies from five of the most important people in Dr. Thomas life. Promise Four is filled with Bible verses that will help the reader embrace the Word of God like guiding stars. Promise Five shares a plethora of hymns that will help the reader embrace them like twinkling stars. And, Promise Six is designed to help the reader love Gods gift of body, heart, and taste by providing cherished family recipes from Dr. Kikis loved ones. However, there is a bonus chapter that precedes Promise Six. Its a prelude to the recipes, and it features some really wonderful stories that are relevant to Kikis love for cooking. It also provides an amazing glimpse into her personality and the genuine love she had for family and friends. As you peruse the pages of Women of Strength: Six Promises to God, you will inevitably feel the love that pours from Dr. Thomas heart. This could be attributed to her southern hospitality that was instilled in her through her rich Louisiana heritage, or it could also very well be a divine work of the Holy Spirit. Better yet, it could be a perfect combination of the two. Nevertheless, it is clearly undeniable that this book was written to be a source of strength for women. Dr. Thomas faith is strong, and it is her desire for others faith to be strong as well. The reader will read and be blessed.

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
