Matryca ta wykazuje różny stopień mineralizacji w postaci tkanej kości lub cementu przypominającego okrągłe, bezkomórkowe, intensywnie bazofilne struktury. Zmiana włóknisto-kostna nie jest specyficzną diagnozą wskazującą jedynie na szeroką grupę kilku chorób.
