He died when his wish was granted - on November 26th 1703, in what is still judged to be Britain’s worst ever storm, both Henry and all remnants of his precious Lighthouse were destroyed.By building his lighthouse entirely at sea Henry had surpassed Alexander the Great’s Pharos - becoming in effect The Eighth Wonder of the World.
