Parts of some of these stories are true or partly true or based on somethingsomebody else told me was true, so pretty much, these stories are fiction. And I’m glad about that. I like to write fiction for two reasons:1. I can do most of the research in my head, which is fun, and2. Fiction is often more truthful than non-fiction. It can afford to beas it takes little responsibility as the disclaimer in the front of thebook tells you. That’s freedom of speech at work which we all needand love. Even if it’s a raving, ranting piece of borderline insane rageor a declaration of freedom and love, that freedom is a good thing.Especially for writers. And all other people.

  • Meritocrats
    Stuart Evans
Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...

Book synopsis:I reread part of Sweetgrass, one of the other poetry books I have written and I thought, well, that’s some profound B.S. in there, not to mention those screaming examples of OCD that a psychiatrist would notice, and some of those odd rhyming patterns, here-to-fore most likely unknown to man, like a motorboat speeding over choppy waters or a stuttering drunk, but t...
