This book is about life and love. Letters written to a much-adored person, filled with unconditional love. This is a book for my muse. Someone pointed out to me;'Remember why you started.' Ah, yes, perspective. I started writing because I found the most wonderful treasure that I could not contain within my being! I was bursting with emotion, like spring blossoms after a long winter. I embarked on this endeavor because I found someone to love. Someone that I could unconditionally and undeniably just absolutely... Love. I found you.'And I still write, but not as often, because there are dams in place, ones that I wish we never built, and I can feel the floodwaters rising, pushing against them, trying to make them crumble. No dam can still the ebb and flow of the swirling depths inside of me! Oh, how I wish to be free to flood you with love! To saturate you with abundant waves and trickle down into the hidden places! I want to envelop you within my waters and carry you off to cerulean seas. Can you not see it in my eyes? Can you not hear my longing soul? It constantly cries out for you! Yes, I remember, I never have forgotten. Not for a single moment... that I did this all because of love. And I always will... as long as you are in my life.'-Excerpt is 'Floodwaters' from 'The Briny Sea of Poetry' by Brandy Lane

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
