This book develops and applies a scorecard for choosing the best possible president from a field of candidates. To develop the scorecard, the book presents four sets of facts: an analysis of the job experience factors most highly correlated with our best and worst presidents, a description of the histories of our four greatest presidents, a description of the histories of our four lowest-ranked presidents, and a selection of addresses from our greatest presidents to the American people. The book then describes the six party systems used by political scientists to describe how political parties have evolved over the history of the United States, and defends the author’s opinion that we have been living in a Seventh Party System for the past thirty years. The author constructs a generic scorecard for what makes a great president from the job experience factors and the histories of our best and worst presidents. Then, with citations from recent history, the author applies the scorecard to the candidates in the 2024 election.
