In the Gospels Jesus proclaims that He will 'build His Church.' In the Book of Acts we see the beginnings and spread of His Church.  Throughout the epistles we see the good, the bad and the ugly of the struggling Church.  In Revelation chapters 2-3 we find John writing to seven literal churches in Asia Minor.  It has been about 65 years since the Lord's ascension.  Jesus through John is asking . . . 'Hey it's been a while.  Let's see how are you guys doing?'  In these two chapters Jesus goes on to either applaud or criticize the churches for their actions or lack thereof.   The question is . . . what if Jesus came to visit churches today in the United States? What do you think he would have to say?  It could be a very sobering thought.  Statistics tell us that as a whole,  the Church in this country is not doing so well.  Why?  Could the answer be the total lack of discipleship in churches today?  Why the vast difference and the tremendous disparity between the early church and the church today? This book is an attempt to answer many of these questions as well as give spiritual direction to those who are the Church. Chris Copeland brings a lot of experience to the table as an author.  He is a graduate of Arizona College of the Bible and Fuller Theological Seminary.  He has held innumerable jobs: a police officer, commercial diver, pastor, college professor, project and safety manager in the semiconductor industry, high school and college track coach.  He even did a stint as a rodeo clown.  He currently lives in Phoenix Arizona where he is director of 2wenty8ight 19:Ministries, which is a discipleship ministry.  He is also the Director of Men's Ministries at Bethany Bible Church.  He is married to Wendy and has two adult step kids Brenna and Justin.

There is a dark side to light, you know.  Evil wears many disguises.  It always camouflages itself as other than it is; and, good men are deceived.  The very nature of deception is that the deceived do not know that they are deceived.  There is a dark side to light, you know.  In the midst of the darkness – the children of light!  The backdrop – spiritual warfare. This Christia...

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
