'Life can only be understood backwards but must be lived forwards' - Soren Kierkegaard'Do you ever wish you could go back in time? Do something over again? Feel a few things twice? Take back the words you said, or maybe say a few more? Although I can’t help you time travel, my hope is that this book may prevent some of those future regrets while there is still time. I spent the last year asking elderly folk, cancer patients, and suicide survivors, as well as family members who have lost loved ones to cancer and suicide, what life lessons they have learned and what they would tell their younger selves if they had the chance. The responses hit home. As we age, it becomes evident that in our younger years we aren’t always focused on what truly matters in life: holding our loved ones tight, living loudly, and reducing the impact that others’ opinions have on our lives. What I Would Tell Me narrows the gap between figuring out the true meaning of life and implementing that wisdom before we reach the point of regret. We were born and we are going to die-that is set in stone, but what isn’t is what we choose to do with our 'in between.' What will you do with yours?
