Wayfaring is a collection of poems about journeys, both physical and metaphysical. Filled with keen observations on the nature of life and what it is to be human, imbued with love, raw emotion and a good measure of anger too, these poems touch on things that were and things that yet might be. Ghosts from the past travel hand in hand with the reality of the present as Tikuli explores the byways of society, family, love and loss, while questioning the role memory plays in our rapport with the many things that bind us to reality. At once elegiac and forward–looking, nuanced and outspoken, the poet’s words call for us to understand that greater things unite us than divide us. This second volume of poems by Tikuli is nothing less than a triumph.Tikuli iis a blogger and author from Delhi. Her short stories and poems have appeared in print and in online literary magazines including Le Zaparougue, MiCROW 8, The Smoking Book (Poets Wear Prada Press, US), Life and Legends, Levure Littéraire 10, The Enchanting Verses Literary Review, Open Road Review, Cafe Dissensus, Mnemosyne Literary Journal, Women’s Web, Readomania and Troubadour21. Tikuli’s print publications include poems and stories in Guntur National Poetry Festival Anthology, Melange – a Potpourri of Thoughts, Silence is White and the much acclaimed Chicken Soup For the Indian Romantic Soul (Westland). ‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

(From the foreword by Kris Saknussemm) As with all the poets I most admire, words are living things for Tikuli. But as you will come to discover, they are never deployed for their own sake. She uses them to tell stories. The images, scenes, characters and fragments of visionary empathy that you will find in this book are all rooted in her native India-and yet they reach out far...
