First, it was Warrior’s Manuscript...the sometimes-mystical journey of a Viet Nam Era soldier who learned what it meant to be a warrior while fulfilling the oath of freedom ' fighter. His were softer words, as he put it on that first back cover, 'No, it’s not another war story... no, it wasn’t, but war was to come. For me, the delight of that first book and the second was the Metaphorical Solutions where scammers and idiots get their comeuppance. Now, where Warrior’s Manuscript was mostly fictional poetry, Warrior’s Allegory introduced us to what would be the ongoing character of the rest of the trilogy: fantasy told in narrative poetry. The poem is Jungle, and it is fantasy, and it is presented with many characters delivering their lines in narrative, a stark departure from most of my poetry. Warrior’s Allegory continues in similar fashion until Jungle throws things off the rails in both character and length and sets up what you will be seeing in Warrior’s Chronicle. In Warrior’s Chronicle you will see almost total military oriented poetry, that is not to say that it will not appeal to the adventurous civilian heart; The Pilgrim is a beautiful, poignant love poem. However, by the time we reach Donut Envy, we will be in full warfare intertwined with fantastic mystery.
