This is the story of a young Marine born to a Native American and a Caucasian mother. Master Gunnery Sergeant Tommy T. Tucker served in the United States Marine Corps for over twenty years. On his life’s journey, he meets Chi Le, a lady he will love forever.Tommy T. Tucker joined the Marine Corps shortly after graduating from high school. His journey took him to Vietnam, where he met Chi Le. Those who know Tommy T. know he received the Medal of Honor from President Jimmy Carter in 1980. Along with the Medal of Honor, Triple T. earned a Bronze Star for performing actions that displayed bravery and courage, along with the Purple Heart. Chi Le had to leave her comfortable home behind after a heartbreaking tragedy. She witnessed the loss of her parents, who were beheaded by the North Vietnamese Resistance. At just 12 years old, she embarks on a brave journey from her home to Saigon, navigating through the lush rice fields and dense jungle in search of Sister Mary. She doesn’t know that her journey will lead her on a long, challenging path for many years. Pregnant, she escaped Saigon, and her travels would take her from Vietnam to New York City with many detours. Shortly after the war ended, Tommy was honorably discharged in 1978. Near the end of the war, Tommy’s attitude began to shift. He was a proud American who loved the red, white, and blue, but he saw things he could not understand or accept. He felt that those serving in Nam were sometimes forgotten and not treated equally, witnessing his friend being passed over for promotion because of the color of his skin. Tommy led his men on operations that lasted 30 days or more in some of Vietnam’s most inhospitable conditions, 'without shaving, bathing, or changing clothing, he fought for the red, white, and blue.' Tommy returned to the mountains of Pennsylvania and began to build a community of his own. Never forgetting Chi Le as he continued searching for her.

    Stuart Evans
Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
