In 1986, at the age of forty-one, Rita began to have many new spiritual experiences, discovering in the process a completely new world. In her search for answers, she met and fell in love with a Cree First Nations medicine man, Raven Makkannaw. She began an apprenticeship in spirituality, and how to incorporate that into a balanced daily life. Now at age 80, she has decided to share some of the knowledge which gave her an understanding of how to journey well in balance through life. Wise ones and spiritual teachings of elders are reverently celebrated as Rita pays homage to their voices and lived lessons in Wandering Wisely in Balance.
