Waiting for Visa is one of the most important autobiographical works by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution of India, renowned social reformer, economist, jurist, and champion of human rights. In this powerful narrative, Ambedkar recounts real incidents from his own life that expose the harsh realities of caste discrimination and untouchability in Indian society during the early twentieth century. Through personal experiences marked by exclusion, humiliation, and injustice, he reveals the systemic barriers faced by millions of marginalized people. More than a memoir, this work stands as a historic testimony to the struggle for dignity, equality, and social justice. Written with clarity, honesty, and moral conviction, Waiting for Visa remains an essential text for students, scholars, policymakers, and readers interested in Indian history, social reform, constitutional values, and human rights. This edition, published by SASA Publishing (OPC) Private Limited under the Sasa Classic Series, brings Ambedkar’s enduring message to a new generation of readers and serves as a reminder of the importance of building a society based on liberty, equality, and fraternity.
