Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, ein neues Modell der Lageraufteilung für eine große Holzindustrie im Bundesstaat Pará vorzuschlagen, um Aktivitäten zu reduzieren, die keinen Mehrwert für das Produkt darstellen, und das betreffende Unternehmen wettbewerbsfähiger zu machen. Die Untersuchung des physischen Layouts ist von größter Bedeutung für die Optimierung der Produktionstätigkeiten und die Verbesserung des Lagerhandlings. Zur Veranschaulichung des Vorschlags für ein neues Layout und der damit verbundenen Verbesserungen der Arbeitsabläufe im Lagerbereich des untersuchten Unternehmens wurden Flussdiagramme verwendet.
