Seit geraumer Zeit erkennt die gesamte Menschheit an, dass soziale Gerechtigkeit der beste Weg ist, um einen dauerhaften Frieden zu sichern und die Armut in unserer Gesellschaft zu beseitigen. So hatte der Verwaltungsrat der Internationalen Arbeitsorganisation auf seiner 320. Sitzung im März 2014 beschlossen, eine normative Frage mit dem Titel: Menschenwürdige Arbeit auf die Tagesordnung der 105. Gemäß Artikel 39 Absatz 1 der Geschäftsordnung der Konferenz erstellte das Büro einen vorläufigen Bericht, der die Gesetzgebung und Praxis verschiedener Länder untersuchte und den Mitgliedsstaaten im April 2015 zusammen mit einem Fragebogen übermittelt wurde. Als weltweit einzige multilaterale Organisation mit einer dreigliedrigen Struktur ist die IAO ein idealer Maßstab für die Einhaltung von Regeln, die menschenwürdige Arbeit fördern. Die Priorität der Menschheit besteht heutzutage darin, sicherzustellen, dass jeder Arbeitnehmer in eine menschenwürdige Situation versetzt wird, in der seine Würde als Mensch geachtet wird.
