Este livro será dividido em duas partes, parte A e parte B; na primeira parte, será discutido o desenvolvimento de uma justiça protetora, onde será analisado o conceito de Dignidade Humana, sob o relato do que Primo Levi escreveu na Trilogia de Auschwitz com o que viveu nos campos de concentração; e como a partir desses crimes atrozes contra a humanidade, surge o nascimento de novas instituições que serão responsáveis por garantir a proteção dos direitos humanos. A Parte B, intitulada Estado de direito e justiça transicional, discutirá primeiro as origens da justiça transicional, definirá o que se entende por ela, os seus objectivos, os seus níveis, os seus princípios, o objecto de reparação (neste caso a vítima), a sua importância no reforço do Estado de direito, os elementos de uma política deste tipo de justiça abrangente e, em seguida, analisará porque é importante na solução de crimes cometidos dentro de um Estado de direito.
