Jake Simms has it all. He flies airplanes and helicopters, is a Deacon at his church and teaches Sunday school. He has two wonderful kids in college and a loving wife whose job is getting downsized. With no job the bills are piling up. But wait! They need pilots for a government contractor somewhere in the Middle East, can’t say where exatl, security reasons. Turns out its a little farther out, off world to be exact. Jake is going to a world that 30 centuries ago the inhabitants not only managed to destroy each other but sterilze the planet. Humans aren’t the only ones to go to war over religious differences. And the aliens want us to work with another species. So Jake, meet your new copilot, a six-foot tall intelligent ant named Fred. All of the weapons from the war are not supposed to work anymore. But one still does and the only thing worse than it leaving Virago 4 is its arrival on Earth. Jake’s boss worries about alien invasions. Jake is just trying to not get killed today.
