This volume presents the complete score for Edvard Grieg’s 1865 sonata, 'Violin Sonata No.1 in F Major'. Edvard Hagerup Grieg (1843 - 1907) was a Norwegian pianist and composer. Today, he is generally considered to be one of the leading composers of the Romantic era, his music constituting part of the classical canon worldwide. He famously incorporated and developed Norwegian folk music in his compositions, which brought the music of Norway to the international stage. To this day, he is the most celebrated person in the city of Bergen. This sonata was composed in the summer of 1865 while Grieg was on holiday Rungsted, Denmark. It was written not long after his only piano sonata was finished in the same summer. Featuring large, clear note heads and wide margins, this edition is perfect for studying and following the music, and it is not to be missed by collectors.
