La violenza domestica contro i bambini e gli adolescenti (DVCA) può essere definita come un’azione o un’omissione praticata da padri, madri o altre figure di assistenza in grado di causare danni fisici, sessuali e/o psicologici alla vittima. Questo libro cerca di comprendere le pratiche discorsive, basate sulla teoria delle rappresentazioni sociali, di dodici educatori che hanno lavorato con bambini e adolescenti vittime di DVA. Attraverso l’analisi del contenuto, i discorsi degli intervistati sono stati associati ai miti greci: Themis, Arianna, Teseo, Mnemosyne, Prometeo, Hestia, Artémis, Métis, Reia, Démeter, Persefóne e Atena dalla prospettiva del lavoro erculeo che hanno dovuto svolgere fino alla notifica. L’autrice mostra che l’insicurezza di fronte alla non conoscenza di cosa sia realmente l’ACV, l’inefficienza del Consiglio di tutela, l’ignoranza dell’ECA e la mancanza di strumenti e metodologie per intervenire nei casi di ACV sono stati tutti fattori che hanno ostacolato e reso difficile la denuncia. La conclusione è che questa violenza, in quanto tragedia, può essere rappresentata da educatori che sono arrivati ad avere uno sguardo più umanizzato e un atteggiamento di difesa dei bambini e degli adolescenti.
