La violenza subita dalle donne nelle relazioni intime continua a essere un problema importante per la salute pubblica in Brasile e nel mondo. Questo studio è stato condotto per la tesi di Master in Salute Pubblica presso il Dipartimento di Medicina Sociale dell’Università Federale di Pernambuco, Recife, Brasile, nel 2008. Lo studio trasversale aveva l’obiettivo di indagare l’associazione tra la violenza da partner nelle relazioni di intimità e altri fattori associati alla gravidanza desiderata tra le donne incinte di età compresa tra i 18 e i 49 anni iscritte a un programma di salute familiare nella città di Recife. Il testo rivela varie associazioni con i risultati e invita a riflettere sull’argomento.
