This collection consists of three novellas as well as three short stories with the attributes of a novella. Through P. Karunakaramurthy’s delicate and empathetic writing, the central characters become unique and compelling. They are different in appearance and characteristics; isolated and in conflict with the socio-political order. However, it is precisely these unique traits and distinctions that bring characters such as Kasi, Jennifer, and blue-eyed Balasingam to life. The characters are conceived as shocks to the tendencies, values and norms of the masses. P. Karunakaramurthy explores different territories and creates immortal possibilities in fiction. The result is a delightful book from a skilled master.
