Welchen Platz hat das Vergnügen im guten Leben? Kann man das Vergnügen ohne Rücksicht auf die Folgen genießen? Was ist Vergnügen? Diese Fragen sind seit der griechischen Antike immer wieder gestellt worden. In dieser Arbeit soll daher untersucht werden, inwieweit es möglich ist, das Vergnügen im Hinblick auf die eudaimonia bei der Suche nach dem Guten im Dialog Philebus zu begreifen. Wir müssen uns jedoch zunächst der Tradition zuwenden, die Platon vorausgeht, da das Thema der Lust im griechischen Denken wiederkehrt und seinerseits voller Fragen ist, die auch die platonische Philosophie durchdringen. Wenn man darüber nachdenkt, wie das Leben im Hinblick auf das Gute geführt werden sollte, muss man über alle Fragen nachdenken, die den Menschen betreffen und von denen die Lust untrennbar ist.
